The Seine is the only river in the world that runs between two bookshelves. Meet the bookshelves.
From sunrise to sunset, come get an old book, a vintage poster or a beautiful painting at the bouquinistes.
These guys are both sides of the Seine on the central area: on the right bank from the Pont Marie to the Quai du Louvre, and on the left bank from the Quai de la Tournelle to Quai Voltaire. If your French isn’t that rusty, try to talk some stories out of them. The bouquinistes have been around since the 16th century, there’s lots of history around these green boxes.
They are now selling more mainstream souvenirs, but do not buy them here if you’re looking for them. There are places with better prices!
